Boris Zalaszam
by Cecilé

After some email contacts with Boris Zalaszam, we directly went to Hungary so that Stéphane could get tattooed and so that we could meet Boris, whose work we had been seen in newspapers and specialized reviews.

The evening of our arrival he invited us to a typically Hungarian restaurant. There we obviously talked about tattoo. He explained that for a long time, it had been very difficult to find material (tattoo supplies) and that orders did hardly pass through the customs without problems. This explains why today he would rather buy materials during tattoo conventions and not many orders.

We discovered that Boris really worshipped Guy Aitchinson's work, so Stephane showed Boris his forearm tattooed last October by Guy. Boris is a calm, steady and lucid person. He has a wise eye on the world surrounding him. He knows full well that on the "tattoo planet" there are new talented artists appearing constantly and that he must prove himself all the time. He said that he learned a lot on his own, but also by working in Germany with other tattoo artists. He takes part in the writing of chronicles in a specialized Hungarian review dealing with tattoo conventions.
