Greetings all.

Tattoo Artist Magazine #11 is a real treat I know all of you are going to enjoy. This is our biggest issue yet: 128 pages! The first in-depth interview on Chris Trevino ever, plus more photos than you can take in at a single sitting! Almost 60 pages worth!

Plus:
A piping hot new interview with Hunter Spanks provided by Halo Tattoo's own D.J. Rose. Chris Dingwell also has a feature article. A Tattoo Tale for Mike Malone, written (or rewritten) by Kandi Everette. A cool two-page announcement on Grime's new shop, Skull & Sword. A new history lesson from Chuck Eldridge. And plenty more....

Update 09.01.07
Just a note to update everyone. TAM issue #10 is at the printer now. A couple weeks and we'll have the proofs back, barring any serious corrections we'll be at press by Sept. 1st, and have the issues in hand sometime in October; subscriber issues, that is. The rest will arrive by boat 6 weeks later.

TAM #10 features:
Horikitsune, aka Alex Reinke, the only non-Japanese apprentice of Horiyoshi III. Alex shares his unique history with us, plus some tips and tricks for Japanese traditional work, and some philosophy associated with "backgrounds" and their significance in the Japanese traditions.

Wido De Marval and his new shop, Water Studio. Wido spent years working for and learning from Filip Leu. His work is amazing and his story also is one of incredible fortune.

Scott Sylvia feature by Marcus Kuhn...what else need we say?!

Dan Trochio's interview is done by Kore Flatmo. Another great, hardly known, artist.

PLUS: A tribute to my friend Mike Malone's memorial service; a new Tattoo Tale for Mike Malone by Margeret Moser, Rollo's ex-wife; a peek into Oliver Peck's and Keith Underwood's tattooing adventure on the Vans Warped Tour; and some coverage of Shawn Barber's most recent show opening of oil tattooed portraits, written by the Grime. And, of course, whatever else we managed to fit in there.

Thanks for all the help and support, tattoo community! You're the best!

Get your subscriptions in and renewals up to date!

Thanks,

Update 06.28.05
The last of the magazines are being shipped now. So they should all finally be in the mail to everyone by the 1st at the latest. Sorry it takes me so long to get them all out, but it's a loooong job to individually pack each one, insert the CDs, stickers, buttons, and postcards ... then label and stamp each envelope ... and then to haul them all down to the Post Office and mail. (I keep saying we're gonna hire someone to help as soon as we can afford it, so renew your subscriptions ASAP and we'll make it happen before the next issue mails out.) But we're almost there. All that's left is to mail the last 800 copies and that's the project for the week!

Thanks to all of you for your patience.
-Crash

Update 04.28.05
Well, we're finally at print. We've had a lot of delays with this issue and we're seriously behind schedule, but I think once you guys see it, you'll forgive us. This issue's features are Horiyoshi III and Horitomo (that's right!!), plus we also have Jerry Ware from Atlas Tattoo, Boris from Hungary, A step by step with Guy Aitchison, and a little article from Adam Barton ... plus lots of other cool tidbits including another great Tattoo Tale from Mike Malone and an intro to the Horiyoshi article by Don Ed Hardy! Plus we're officially 16 pages bigger now!

Thanks to everyone contributing to our official TAM flash sets- you guys are the tops! And thanks to all of you who have bought a set to help support our layout guys! Hopefully these sets will earn enough dough to get at least one of our guys on full-time at the magazine, and that means we'll start making some deadlines from here on out. Please consider picking up our first two flash sets- all profit from these sets will go directly to the magazine designers. Help support the cause!

Also, if you are a subscriber to the magazine, with this issue you will recieve a renewal form for your subscriptions- please take the time to fill these out and return them ASAP when you get the new issue. We are comitted to making our deadlines from here on out and the subscription renewal money will help go to this purpose ... so don't procrastinate!

Thanks to all of you for making this possible! I hope you are enjoying the ride.
